mkd_PPP

MKD Law have been contributing to World Bank PPP infrastructure survey since 2017. The interest of international institutions towards PPP in Georgia has boosted since the adoption of package of laws governing public-private partnerships in 2018.

The survey assesses the quality of the legal and regulatory framework during the PPP project cycle: a) overview of the legal and institutional framework, b) evaluation of the key features of PPP preparation, c) procurement and d) contract management. The document also deals with the assessment of unsolicited proposals.

We at MKD Law believe that enhancing the participation of the private sector in PPP projects in Georgia is of vital importance. The existing legal framework being in line with the best international standards coupled with a better enforceability, consistent political backing of PPP program and even more efficient and transparent procurement process, would promote to increasing of the number of successful PPP projects in Georgia.

MKD Law have been engaged in the creation and perfection of the respective regulations as well as has successfully participated in number of PPP arrangements. Partner of the firm, Sandro Samadbegishvili leads PPP practice at MKD Law.
